Join me on an incredible Safari in South Africa and Botswana, with an optional Cape Town add-on. 

 

We'll start our safari in the Malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve’ in the Luxurious Jaci's Tree Lodge.  Located on the edge of the Kalahari Desert.  The reserve ensures a truly diverse game-viewing experience. No self-drive visitors are allowed, and all drives are conducted by the private lodges dotted around the reserve. This makes for a very exclusive experience. From big cats to wild dogs, and from tiny dung beetles to mighty bull elephants, Madikwe Game Reserve is a nature photographer’s dream. The reserve has it all: vast African landscapes, panoramic hilltop views and close-up animal encounters.

We'll end the trip with 3 nights in Botwana, one of Africa's premier safari destinations.  Our base will be the Pangolin Chobe Hotel, perched on a plateau overlooking The Chobe River and Namibia’s Caprivi floodplains, which stretch out to the far horizon. The hotel is designed around a wildlife photography gallery. With only 14 rooms it is an intimate property and the base for our iconic photo safari experiences.

Both properties specialize in photographic safaris and vehicles and boats are specifically designed for photographers in mind, with bean bags, gimbals and swivel chairs on the boats.  Jaci's has an  underground, water-level wildlife viewing hide which offers a unique vantage point for photographers.

Both properties offer photographic equipment rental (Canon - included at Pangolin).

Details

 

  • This trip is offered with a pre- or post Cape Town add-on, which is fully customizable.  You will find a suggested Cape Town itinerary with approximate costs, on the link below.  Please contact us for more information and a detailed quote.

  • For the Safari, we recommend flying into and out of Johannesburg 

  • Depending on flight arrival times, you may need to spend a pre-night in Johannesburg, before the safari - this can be arranged through PhotoVentures.

  • Return flights to Madikwe are included in the trip costs

  • Return flights to Kasane are not included, but we can assist with these flights if needed.  Approximate cost is $600 per person (subject to change until ticketed)

  • The safari is offered on an all inclusive basis

  • Visas are not required for travel to South Africa or Botswana for stays of up to 90 days

  • South Africa has repealed all Covid-19 regulations

  • Currently  the Government of Botswana will allow entry for all travelers who completed the primary COVID-19 vaccination series without proof of a negative PCR test. For those travelers not or partially vaccinated, proof of a negative PCR test results, taken not more than 72 hours before arrival, is required, with additional COVID-19 testing at port of entry

  • We would highly recommend taking out travel insurance
